Exploring Volunteering in Palliative Care: The Research - Past, Present and Future
Join us as Catherine Walshe presents contemporary research exploring issues associated with palliative care volunteering. She will draw from a range of studies that she has been involved with including the first randomised controlled trial of hospice volunteers right through to recent research exploring the contribution and deployment of hospice volunteers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Catherine Walshe is Professor of Palliative Care at International Observatory on End-of-Life Care at Lancaster University. She is Editor in Chief of the Journal of Palliative Medicine. Catherine’s research is to explore ways palliative care is delivered and organised to include roles of volunteers.
