Invitations to present issued: week beginning 17 July.

The selection panel meeting takes place on 5-6 July and invitations to present work will be emailed to the first named author during the week beginning 17 July. The invitations include full information about arrangements for the conference.
The offer to present your work may be for a different format to that which you requested, so do check if you have been offered a poster or oral presentation.
Our national conference attracts submissions from authors who are experienced in writing abstracts, through to those who are newer to the process. To help those who are less experienced in writing for publication, our panel of volunteer mentors have been busy sharing their knowledge and experience in writing abstracts and helped authors to increase the chance of their work being accepted for presentation. Evaluation of this scheme for 2022 showed that all of the authors who took part benefitted from the mentorship and take-up this year certainly continued that trend.
A mentor provides one-time feedback on the writing and format of an abstract. They can answer questions about the formal requirements of abstract writing or on points relating to clarity of writing, data presentation etc. Mentors will not advise on research methods or analysis, nor correct grammar or spelling.
The mentor programme is anonymous and it is entirely independent of the formal abstract review and selection process.
